I'll Never Outgrow You Father's Day

We all threw tantrums whenever our dads refused to buy us platform Vans sneakers from Delia’s or the newest Air Jordans (did we just totally age ourselves?!?!  Whatever the 90’s were AWESOME).  While as kids we viewed this refusal as our father's attempt to ruin our chances at being cooler than whatever cheerleader-quarterback duo was currently ruling the social scene at school, as adults we have a little more perspective.  Dad wasn't just wise enough to realize we’d outgrow these new shoes physically and emotionally in about two seconds, but each new pair of shoes signaled one more step we were taking towards being independent humans and away from him.  Take the time this Father’s Day to remind Dad that you will always be his baby…no matter how far away you may journey from home.
